Prayer
Our focus today is on calling helpers. When God gives us ideas, it is men He will use to bring it to pass. All through scripture, we see how God uses men to bring to pass the prophetic future of people. It was the butler in the prison that God used to bring Joseph into his prophetic destiny. Mordechai was who God used to bring Esther into the palace. I want you to lift your right hand and say Heavenly Father, I decree and declare right now that from all corners of the world, men are under compulsion to bless and help me. They bring in all the resources, material and otherwise that are needed for this assignment, for this vision, for this instruction, in the name of Jesus. Every vision is as strong as the men who carry it. I want you to begin to pray right now that God is raising help for you.
Isaiah 55:5 says, You will call out to nations you have never known. And they have never known you, but they will come running because I am the Lord, the holy God of Israel, and I have honoured you.
Lift your right hand and say, behold, I call a nation that I know not and nations that knew me not shall run unto me because of the Lord my God, for He has glorified me. Nations are calling, organisations are calling, high network people are calling.
Sermon
It is important that we give ourselves to listening to the word over and over again. Investigate and look into the word that has been spoken. Investigate not in doubt of the word, because if you do that, the word will not bless you. There is what you call the Berean investigation. The bible says they were known for searching and studying the bible themselves and not just believing everything that was said to them. Now, this is the kind of investigation I am referring to.
I can tell you for free if you can just catch light from any one of the messages, your life will dramatically change. So please, let’s go back and be studious. How can you be wise without being studious. Have your bible for bible study and your journal.
Kenneth Copland said every word that hits you in a sermon is like a loaded cow, milk it. Don’t let it go until you’ve taken everything out of it. Say with me a greater than Solomon is here. We’re talking about the demonstration of the wisdom of God. Mathew 12:42. Luke 11:31. By that we are referring to a life that puts the wisdom of God on full display in such measure that it becomes impossible for you to deny there is a God.
In Mark 6:1-2, it was said what manner of wisdom is this that these manifold works were done by Him. It is not about looking for a way out all the time or blessings, miracles etc. The Lord has called us into glory and virtue. That’s the manner and nature of our calling. Not shame, not struggling here and there. One major way that the Lord brings us into the manifestation of this is through wisdom.
Let’s look at another aspect of the wisdom of Solomon here. Particularly because, if you study it very well, David was not reckoned as a wise man. However, Solomon always spoke of his father in a way that showed it was from him he learnt the importance of wisdom. I want you to see some of the conversations David had with Solomon that led to this wisdom Solomon operated in. Look at Proverbs 3 and I want you to see an unlikely spiritual discipline that is required for us to walk in the wisdom of God.
The three faces of wisdom are:
1.Sophia
2. Sunesis
3. Phronesis
The one the church is most acquainted with is the Sophia wisdom of God. So, we fast 21 days to find the will of God. The wisdom of the divine mysteries and secrets of God. As beautiful as this is, we find out that the people that make the most progress on the face of the earth are men who have Phronesis and Sunesis. You can have these and not have Sophia. Sophia regulates you within the will of God. That is why you find people who do not know God or have a depth in God but are making major progress in life. On the other hand, you have people who have great depths in God but are not making progress. This is because the Sophia of God will deliver to you the wisdom of God, but it will not deliver to you understanding.
Proverbs 4:7 says that wisdom is the principal thing. That is the Sophia of God is the principal thing, but with all your getting of that wisdom, get understanding. Understanding being the Sunesis of God. An insight into how things work and operate. Can I tell you something, most of what we celebrate about Solomon’s life is not the Sophia of God, but in these two other aspects of wisdom, Sunesis and Phronesis.
Now let’s see what David taught Solomon. Proverbs 3:1-10, now this is David speaking to Solomon, my son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments. For length of days, and long life, and peace shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
Now, was it by chance that God appeared to King Solomon and said ask what you will. No, it was as a response to something. 1 Kings 3: 3-4 , the bible says Solomon sacrificed 1000 burnt offerings on the altar. Now, I said that a major access to obtaining the understanding of God is your giving life. I gave you 3 major ways to access this understanding.
1. Meditation on the word. Joshua 1:8
2. Giving and
3. Mentors.
Unfortunately, the body of Christ has not been taught about the power and importance of giving liberally. It is the liberal soul that is made fat. In other words, there is a disposition regarding giving in your soul that ensures that your soul keeps being made fat. There Is a powerful connection between giving and wisdom in scriptures. Giving is so powerful in the measure that it makes your soul fat. Soul being the seat of your emotions, your ideas, your thoughts etc. Most times, the harvest from a seed is nothing material but an injection of a thought, perspective, an idea, a concept from heaven. An idea is so powerful that it continues to increase in value. Ideas, revelation and thought continue to increase in value, which means generations yet unborn will enjoy the fruit of that idea. Materials things will end. So, we cannot reduce giving to anything material.
I believe the church has been robbed of what is possible by incomplete teaching. There is a dimension of giving that releases wisdom. You can’t separate Solomon from his giving. 1 Chronicles 22:14-16, we see David giving 22 billion dollars in our currency today towards the building of the house of God. This is probably where Solomon learnt how to give liberally.
Oral Roberts said the great turning point in his ministry was when the Lord taught him from the life of R G Letourneau, that when you give your tithe God says He will open the heavens and pour out a blessing you won’t have room to contain. The Lord began to speak to him and said I don’t have cars to pour down to anybody, I don’t have houses to give anybody, I don’t print money in heaven. The Lord began to teach him on the insights, concepts and ideas principle which means what God pours into your life in response to your giving are ideas, concepts, and insights.
Oral Roberts said he had met someone who worked with R G Letourneau, and they told him he was very poor when he gave his heart to Christ, but he decided to take Malachi 3:11 literally. Mr Letourneau interpretation was this, God was becoming my partner. He decided to test God regarding his intent to build great road building machines which had never been built before. As he continued to tithe, God began to prosper him. He became so wealthy that instead of giving God 10 per cent, he began to give God 90 percent of his earnings and lived off 10 per cent. He noticed that since he began to tithe, new ideas, insights and concepts began to come to him regarding building his earth moving machines. When we say a greater than Solomon is here, then we have to look into our giving. My prayer is this, may God grant you grace to be a liberal sower! Amen.
