Sermon Title: A Greater Than Solomon is Here 5
Preacher: Pastor Ayo Ajani
Date: 17.01.2024

Prayer

I want you to pray and say, Father in the name of Jesus, I decree and declare according to your word, men of stature, men in the corridors of power, they hear of me, and they are in love me. I am blessed and favoured by men of stature from all over the world. They bless and favour me. They lose their peace because of me, until they bless me. I decree and declare that men in positions of authority are losing their sleep on my behalf. Pray this with all your heart today, pray yourself into destiny.

Sermon

This matter of wisdom is everything. When you study it properly, you will realize it is such an important matter. Everything answers to wisdom. The excellency of wisdom is that it gives life to them that have it. The bible says Wisdom is the principal thing. In all and with all your getting, get understanding. I am super excited we are teaching about wisdom. I hope you are listening to the teachings over and over again. Faith comes by hearing the word over and over and not just once.

A greater than Solomon is here and who is that greater that Solomon. First, Jesus was speaking of himself, but because of the redemption, we are implied in that statement also. The key reason for this is because Jesus came on our behalf, died and shed His blood and has granted us His life. It is the key reason why a greater than Solomon is here. Redemption was established on the law of exchange; He took our sins so we can take his righteousness. He did not give us something outside of Himself. He took His own righteousness and imparted it to us. The law of exchange, this is what makes redemption as potent and as powerful as it is.

So, redemption is not about God giving us good things, it is about Him exchanging his righteousness for our sins. The bible says He made Him who knew no sin, to become sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It is not just a case of He took our sins and threw it away. He took our sins and put it on Himself, that He may judge our sin and then He took His righteousness and imparted it to you. This is the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. He became poor that I might become rich. In the same way He exchanged our sins for His righteous  is the same way that Christ being wisdom has been passed to us. That is why the bible says, Christ has been made unto us wisdom.. not that He gave us wisdom.

You will agree with me that He will not be made unto us something that doesn’t matter. For the scripture to say this, it must matter. Nobody can become all that God has called them to be unless they function by wisdom. Power is not enough; gifts are great but gifts without wisdom is the express way to destruction. I have seen many gifted people who never hit the radar, they never become the full potential of what they can be. Gifts are not your potential; your disciplines are your potential. Your future is predicted by your disciplines and not your gifts. There are disciplines that come with wisdom, you don’t just wake up wise, there are things you have to do and this is what we have been sharing all this while.

A critical aspect is how that Phronesis is what determines how successful a person can be in life. The bible says the children of this world are wiser in their generation. This is referring to practical wisdom. Practical wisdom is what makes a person successful in life and not just Sophia. That is why people who do not have a relationship with God or know Him can still live a successful life.
You can have the revelation that you will be the next president of the nation (Sophia), however, this is not enough to make it happen. You need the practical wisdom to make it happen (Phronesis).
It is an unfortunate thing that the church of God has downplayed the place of wisdom. Have you not found out, people who are not speaking in tongues like us, painfully so, still get things done. Why, because wisdom is greater than weapons of war, even if they are spiritual. It is time to be wise.

1 Kings 3:7-9 – We have seen how prayer is one major access to contact the wisdom on God. We see that in the life of Solomon. But I want stress something that I have already mentioned, and I would like to explain further. We see as one person prayed in 1 Kings the 3rd chapter, Solomon said, give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge your people
Now, there is a principle here that I want you to get. God has not called you to be the best at everything or succeed at everything. He has called you to succeed and be the best at one thing and that thing will make every other thing good in your life. Solomon didn’t pray for many of the things we saw happen in his life. It was just one thing he prayed for and when that one thing was done and he was successful in that thing. It fed into every area of his life. He said if I can be a success in leading your people, then every other thing will be sorted out.

One of the biggest problems I have found with believers is we don’t even know what we want. Remember Carver and the prayer he made to the Lord. It was not until he narrowed down what exactly he wanted, then the Lord answered him. This was how to get milk from the peanut. In the quest for wisdom, your hunger for it must be channelled to specific areas. It is not a generic thing. This is one of the key laws in contacting the wisdom of God. Particularly, a drive for that area of your life that matters the most. There is that one thing that if you succeed in it, it has a way of influencing practically everything else in your life. You have to find what it is, you have to know what it is.

I’ve been studying Zipf’s law – the rewards for being the best at one thing that when you compare it to the number 2 thing, it usually makes no sense. You reduce your chances of being significant and great in life when you are good at everything. It is not a nice thing when someone says you are good at everything. The problem is we want to do several things good at the same time. Solomon asked for wisdom for one thing, and it fed into every area.

Let me tell you something, when you become outstanding in one thing, the resources required for other things would naturally come to you. So what is your one thing? That is the question I am asking you and you have to find out during these 21 days of prayer and fasting. What is your one thing? If Jesus failed to rise from the dead, all the stories we read in the gospels are a waste. What is the one thing to succeed at? You must find that thing and then seek the Lord for wisdom concerning that thing. When you build around that thing, you will find out that you have more resources to cater for other things.

Even when you have the strength and resources to do those many things, don’t do it. It is a trap. What you find out is your effectiveness and efficiency in that one thing diminishes. When you stay in that one thing, you make a mark in that one area that can’t be erased. My prayer today is that you find that one thing and stick with it.
